Dusty Kid – III [Techno-2016]

Today I got something very special for you. It’s what I believe to be the best ambient-techno album of all times. This instrumental masterpiece trips you in a dark place in your mind.

A little over two hours of fine atmospheric techno. This should be enjoyed at night. The track I’ve selected to showcase sets the tone for the rest of the album. As always here’s the bandcamp link if that’s your thing. 10/10.

HEALTH – Rat Wars [Industrial-2023]

Yes, I know House of Music is an electronic music blog. But every once in a while I’ll be presenting things I find interesting from other genres as well.

Here we got the latest from HEALTH. They are an industrial band from L.A. They have said about themselves that: “We aren’t just interested in being a noisy screaming band”.

How does it work out not being noisy in a noisy genre? Quite good actually. The vocals and melodies are mellow and sweet but the music can get a real kicker sometimes. The end result is as dark as it’s cover. Yes, in this case, please do judge it by it’s cover.

This one was released on the 7th of December, 2023. A few days ago. As always be sure to buy the album on bandcamp if that’s your thing. Otherwise stream away and enjoy. 9/10.

Klute – No one’s listening anymore [Drum and Bass-2005]

It’s quite hard to find great Drum and Bass albums. It’s mostly a singles/EPs kind of music. However there are a few albums that stood out over the years.

One of these is Klute’s 5th album on Commercial Suicide records. Techy and modern it’s still a great listen up to these days.

P Money & Whiney – Streets, Love & Other Stuff [Drum and Bass-2023]

What happens when a top Grime MC meets a Drum and Bass producer and a few guests? An album filled with urban bangers! This is some seriously forward thinking Drum and Bass we got here. 8/10.

ArpXP – Laws of chance [Drum and Bass-2023]

Arpxp comes from Sardinia, Italy. His album is a fresh take on Liquid Drum and Bass plus some experiments with ambient soundscapes. To be honest the entire album is quite atmospheric with vocals absent. 8/10.

Nalepa – The flowers [Electronic-2023]

This came out a couple of days ago. It’s produced by Nalepa. An artist active in the California scene. I have to say I was quite impressed with some of the tracks in this album. Thumbs up! 8/10.

Leftfield – This is what we do [Electronic-2022]

Only their 4th album which is a surprise considering their first album came back in 1995. Not on par with the masterpieces of the past but a great listen anyway. 7/10.

Add N To (X) – Avant Hard [Experimental-1999]

A big bang back in the days. Using analogue synths they created a medieval soundscape that was way ahead of it’s time. 8/10.

Biosphere – Inland Delta [Ambient-2023]

The Prince of ambient is back with a great release. 7/10.
